Robinsons Supermarket celebrates 40 years, honors employees for service

As Robinsons Supermarket turns 40 this year, we reflect on a journey that began with our first store in Cebu in 1985 and has grown into a nationwide network of 152 stores, bringing better choices to Filipino families.

This milestone is also about the people who have stood with us through the years. We recently recognized over 60 employees who have been with Robinsons Supermarket for 25 years and more, including our longest-serving colleague, Group General Manager of Small Formats Erneliza De Jesus, at 38 years. Their decades of service are a reminder that retail is not only about stores, systems, or products—it is about people who show up every day and give their best to serve customers.

We also looked back on the leadership that has guided Robinsons Supermarket across four decades. Our first Business Unit Head, Ronnie Ong, joined us at the celebration. He was succeeded by Jody Gadia, who could not be with us as he was travelling abroad. After him came Stanley Co, now President and CEO of Robinsons Retail; Christine Tueres, now Managing Director of Big Formats; and Kerwin Legarde, current Business Unit Head.

We thank our awardees and leaders, past and present, for the work they have put in and the years they have shared with us. They carry forward the spirit of Robinsons Supermarket and what it means to put heart to cart.
