Uncle John’s supports franchisee growth through Franchise Ed 2026

Uncle John's gathered its franchisees in August for its 2026 Franchise Ed event, a forum focused on helping franchise partners strengthen store operations and grow their businesses over the long term.
The program featured a talk by Robinsons Retail Independent Director and Ateneo de Manila University VP for Administration Rodolfo Ang. In a session titled “Lessons I Learned from My Mother,” Mr. Ang shared how the lessons he learned from his mother stayed with him throughout a career spanning academe, entrepreneurship, and franchising. Mr. Ang highlighted the importance of fostering a sense of ownership among employees. “When employees feel that they own the business, they take care of it the same way an owner would. They become more mindful of the resources they use, the decisions they make, and ultimately, the success of the business,” said Ang.
Kevin Enriquez of Universal Robina Corporation’s Consumer Insights group also discussed shopper behavior and purchasing trends. “Understanding how shoppers’ needs and preferences are evolving allows us to make better decisions at the store level,” said Enriquez. He highlighted that by keeping up with these shifts, we can create a more relevant and convenient experience for our customers.
“Our franchisees are important partners in the growth of Uncle John’s. Regular forums such as Franchise Ed allow us to share practical insights, listen to their needs, and work with them to strengthen store operations and serve customers better,” said General Manager Donna Rhia Miranda-Leoncio.
