Robinsons Supermarket offers more affordable rice and sugar as the first retail partner of the government's Presyong Risonable Dapat Program, which was launched on December 9, 2018 at Robinsons Supermarket in Robinsons Galleria.Spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the program is also supported by the Department of Agriculture, the National Food Authority, and the Sugar Regulatory Administration.
Significantly lower than average market prices, shoppers can now buy rice at Php34/kilo to Php39/kilo, while white sugar is priced at PHP 50.00/kilo and brown sugar at Php45.00/kilo.
“We thank the Robinsons Group for quickly offering to support the government’s Presyong Risonable Dapat (PRD) program that can bring cheaper rice and sugar to all their outlets nationwide. This would make our kababayans (countrymen) happier as they will surely have easy access to these better-priced basic products,” said DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez.
This is not the first time that the supermarket segment decreased the price on basic commodities through a partnership. Last September, Robinsons Supermarket and Universal Robina Sugar Milling Corporation introduced lower-priced sugar in all Robinsons Supermarket and Robinsons Easymart branches nationwide.
