As a tool for continuing education, The Generics Pharmacy regularly conducts Kape at Kwentuhan (Coffee and Storytelling) among its franchisees. The kapihan sessions are usually held at the company’s Manila Head Office but were recently launched outside the capital, with the latest ones held in Angeles City, Pampanga and Cebu City last January 17 and June 28, 2018, respectively.

A session on the Labor Code with Atty.  Gilbert Millado, RRHI General Counsel.

Insightful and engaging, Kape at Kwentuhan serves as an opportunity for the company to communicate relevant developments that affect the business and to further capacitate franchisees in various areas, from finance to regulatory requirements in pharma retail. Participants likewise learn from each other, as best practices and experiences are shared in an open environment.

A franchisee shares her experiences in running the business during the open forum.

“We see the kapihan as one of the many ways we support and build relationships with our franchisees. From our Pampanga leg, for example, 63 franchisees attended, representing 103 TGP branches in Central and Northern Luzon. We conducted sessions on the TRAIN Law and the Labor Code as well as facilitated a forum, and it allowed us to have a clearer picture of retailing generics from various perspectives,” said Agnes Rafiñan, General Manager of The Generics Pharmacy.
